Scarcity or Abundance

 

 

This question addresses the primary issue facing church communities today.  From a theology of scarcity perspective, a congregation, and it's members live from a perspective of fear.  One believes that there are limits to God's world, limits in our communities, and limits in our personal life.  We fear there isn't enough money; we fear the international scene will affect the economy, and we fear long-term members won't be replaces in our congregation.

 

Jesus teaches a theology of abundance.  In a life of generosity and grace, the abundant life continues to flow from God's grace to each of us, god's children.  Give and you will receive is contrary to how we see things; it's not contrary to how God blesses us.
